Ok, any of you computer people, I need your help.

I have 2 "My Pictures" folders.

One is on the desktop, which has all my pictures in it.

The other is under the START menu.

The problem is that I only have my pictures in the desktop one and not the other one under the start menu. Is it possible to synchronise the both so that when I add pictures to the one on the desktop, they also go into the other one? I just can't figure it out!

Thanks :)

ah crap... i can't remember how it works in xp, sorry!

edit - i THINK you can right click on 'my pictures' in the start menu, then click 'properties', and it should say like "C:\Documents and Settings\{User Name}\My Documents\My Pictures" or something to that extent, you can change it to "C:\Documents and Settings\{User Name}\Desktop\Pictures" or whatever the link to your other folder is...

double edit - used windows 7, not xp paths LOL

I have to ask why you wouldn't just have a shortcut to the My Pictures folder on the Desktop - and store your pictures in the default My Pictures location (under My Documents)?

Another way of changing the location of the My Pictures folder would be to download TweakUI Powertoy for Windows XP (http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c/a/fca6767b-9ed9-45a6-b352-839afb2a2679/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe) and manage it under the Special Folders section.

Renae right click on them, then left click on properties and see where they are located.
I find it a bit wierd that one isn't just a shortcut to the other.

If they both say C:\Documents and Settings\User Name(your pc name)\My Documents\My Pictures then you know one is shortcut, but if they have totally different locations, you can copy/paste content to the one you want to keep which should preferably be the default location above.
