Gday

I have just received my new travel tripod and a 496 Manfrotto head:bounce:. The tripod has a 1/4" male thread (or female if I remove the stud) and the head has a 3/8" female thread.:furious:

I don't want to wait 2 weeks for a 1/4 F - 3/8 M adapter to come from China, I want to use it NOW:stomp:. I could drill the the tripod out, thread it and put a 3/8" stud in it...seems like a lot of buggering about.

Has anybody got any idea where I could get a 1/4 F - 3/8 M or a 1/4 M - 3/8 M adapter???

Cheers, RAW

The Mongrels have loctited the stud into the tripod and I don't want to mark or damage anything so it looks like my only option is one of those little hollow adapters from China unless there is an Oz supplier for them.

try imagemelbourne.com.au

they usually have something of that nature. Either that or michaels in melbourne but you will pay through the nose for it from michaels.

I'm surprised it did not have both. My Manfrotto monopod has a spring loaded 3/8 that pushes in to reveal a fixed 1/4, so it fits either size.

I think most larger camera stores sell the adaptors.
