We camped at Arckaringa Station to try and get some at least some half decent photos of the Painted Desert
I admit I struggled and I really dunno why , I have both JPEG and RAW file to edit
anyway here is a few so far .
Sorry if I have posted to many to start with

not many places I want to go to but this place is on the list.
all look pretty good Jacko; maybe best to crop off some of the sky in the first couple IMO.
maybe you are trying to get too much in which is a common problem when photographing a place like this. You certainly need some wide photos but then is time to get in closer or use a longer lens to isolate part of the scene.
So how do you get there?

Thanks Ian , I have plenty of files to still work on
#4 and #7 are stitch panos , #4 was hand held and #7 on a tripod so I could get in it ,
How do you get there , easy all good roads but all dirt from Marree but still very good , better than some our bitumen roads down here
its just up the road from you , a nice weekend drive , just follow the Red Line ,
lots of other great scenery on the way

Fantastic mate . like alot!.
The outback is a constant source of wonder to me and your shots just reinforce that feeling Jacko. I am just so jealous I am not there to see it as well.

Thanks jacko; where did you get the map? Looks pretty detailed. The auto clubs (RACV and the like) used to have great regional maps but they stop stocking them
Anyone got any tips for good outback maps or GPSs

Just about any good Map Shop should have them
4x4 shops ( ARB ) , Camping Stores ect .
I think I picked up a copy " Hema's GDT " South East Sheet , at the Mildura , ARB , shop
