Trying to be harsh...but i can't scott. I always like these blurred water movement shots.
Having said that, I had a play with it anyway. just tried boosting saturation and contrast.
I prefer this version, but i'm so often wrong with my edits, that i could be alone on this.

OK, so this is where I FLAME cookster now for editing my pic!!! :p
But seeing as you're a fellow nikonian, I'll let you off this time.
I like what you've done with the rocks especially the foreground, much nicer,
But I'm not sure if it has enhanced the wave patterns at all.
I might have a go tonight and boost just the rocks.
Cheers Cookster.
Well, I have to admit I'm not really one for blurry water. BUT, there is something about that set that appeals to me. I like the way you have got into a shooting position where the rock frames the water on 3 sides. The first is the one I like best, the way the water has leading lines in it moving across and towards the open sea is very nice.

Cant find any CC for these, Very nice.....
Both nice but I like the first one best , for me it displays the water motion really artistically showing the water ebbing out with the incoming wave breaking foam over it, a nice composition and nicely timed shot.

But Julie, their not animal shots!! :)
Thank you for your comments. Always appreciated.

Hmmm, just a thought...I like the idea behind the shot but you have titled it "wave patterns" and yet the rocks are a powerful feature.
Maybe a BIG crop to remove most, but not all, might work, as I said just a thought.
Judging by the other comments here I appear to be running against the tide but oh well...:baloon:
And yeah, the rocks need a contrast boost.

I agree, mate. The loss of the rocks, makes it a sad little pic. :(

Yeah ok, you've won me. The rocks look great now too.

Very unusual and appealing composition. Nice!
I like #2; I feel #1 is unbalanced with too much rock in the bottom RHC and too much water in the top LHC. In #2, the water hasn't completely obscured the rocks on it's way in/out but there is enough motion for me to keep looking at the pretty patterns as it spills off them. There isn't really too much else to say other than a bit of dodging on some of the darker areas of the rocks (especially those at the top of the image), and maybe a vibrance/contrast boost. I wouldn't crop at all; I agree with Cookster about keeping them in.
Good timing on the captures.
