some light cloud on the horizon, and a bit of morning fog provided a natural diffuser on the rising sun

That person walking in the distance just adds to it doesn't it (almost can't tell whether they are strutting away head up to the right or walking head down to the left) and nice S curve on the water.

Wow lovely shot. Agree s curve is terrific. The sky is beautiful, I really like the pure white bits of cloud. I usually like my pics without people but that silhouette really gives it interest and scale.
now put some cloud over the sun and what a photo!!! certainly worth a frame IMO
I just painted similar colours onto another layer and then reduced the layer to suit. Bit rushed and rough but it's just for ideas to consider.

Thanks Rod....I think he was fishing. I didn't even see him the frame until I got home. That "s" curve has featured in other shots of mine.
It always seems to be there in some form, but the conditions are always different

The person really makes this shot IMHO, the rest of the elements are cool too. I am not a big fan of people in my images, but he survived
the healing brush LOL

my thoughts exactly Ian, and I appreciate you taking the time to put up an edit. I was in two minds whether to do as you have done
or to leave it...I no longer have that problem :D

Nicely taken Tim. I like the way the water tract takes you into and around the image. I bet you were pleased to see a bit of blue sky and sun!!

Thanks Lloyd , yes I love that little stretch of water. Only visible at low tide. Hasn't been too bad up here lately....even seeing the stars and moon
at night for a change LOL

Very good! The person adds that final touch. Love the composition with the water starting in the left corner and winding it's way throught the image leading your eye slowly through to the twin focal point of sun and person.
Jules
Lovely image beautifully composed .. :)

That's a beauty tim. I remember the other similar image you posted a while back, that was equally impressive. The person gives a sense of scale and so enhances the image for me.
I like Ian's edit too, soften the sun takes the image up another notch.

You would be so right Mick....same stretch of water at low tide.....it is ALWAYS there LOL. But the incredible thing is how
it morphs into entirely different scenes depending on light, etc etc. The image you were thinking of is the cover for my
cousins new book:)
cheers
