This guy and a friend came and sat next to me a couple of weeks ago when i was burning off. I think they must be attracted by the smoke, looking for tasty morsels running for their lives.

Anyway they had been sitting patiently for about 10 minutes, so i thought i grab the camera and hope they were still there when i returned. Luckily for me they must have been hungry as they stayed around for over 30 minutes.

The shot was taken using a Leica Telyt 180 f3.4 APO.

Hope you like it C&C welcome.. I luckily nailed the focus, but cropped his tail :(

Thanks Kevin,

It is probably just me, i like dark images, i probably need to change my ways.

Differing screens are scary though. When i was posting my Tulip pic from work today, i had the flickr image open on a Dell 24 screen and a preview window from here on my laptop screen  The colour temp difference was shocking. It really made me realise when any of us are viewing others images it realy is Russian Roulette in regards to what the original poster sees!

Doesn't look too dark for me, but i am on the laptop, some nice detail in the image, a shame about his tail but you have done well regardless.

Looks OK to me too (the dark that is). The picture itself is well captured. Not much not to like there Steve.

Thanks guys,

They are great birds. I am currently using this image as desktop wallpaper. Cropped it looks much better.
