Hi

The laptop is charged again and a few photos of yesterday's walk to the Big Hole and Marble Arch (near Braidwood) processed.

some info here..
http://www.kingshwytodiscovery.com.au/our-great-outdoors/nature%27s-wonders/place-of-interest---around-braidwood.aspx

Very difficult lighting conditions - tried to do my best with flash and processing.

Thanks for having a sqiz

Cheers

Tree ferns at the bottom of The Big Hole

Looking back out of the Arch, which is really just an enclosed part of a narrow chasm. Not somewhere to be after heavy rain

Further in

and further in still

Fantastic shots.
Think I might have to go for a drive one day.

Great shots Alan, I didn't even know about it otherwise I would have tracked it down when we went down that way.

Thanks everyone - certainly worth the walk - two highlights - one at the beginning and one at the end of the walk - probably best to do it on an overcast day with more even lighting in the chasm. The walk in is pretty nice too.

Cheers

Alan i like the processing you used here, gives some a real oil painting look, i can understand the difficulties with the light, but you have obviously mastered it.

Ferns are amazing, it never ceases to amaze me where they will grow.

Lovely shots Alan, I too have never heard of it despite extensive travels in NSW.

Great shots! All of 'em

But I want a closer look at those ferns down the bottom... they don't look familiar to me

Thanks Craig,

AFAIK they are just the Soft Tree Fern - Dicksonia antarctica - these are about 2 mts tall

Great shots Alan,
I have been to the big hole before, it is pretty impressive.
where is the Marble Arch? do you get to it from the same carpark?

Here is a pano of the Big Hole nothing special but it helps show the size
(hope you dont mind Alan, just thought it would show everyone how big it is)

Thanks arsas,

No worries - I should have thought of taking a pano

Yes, Marble Arch is further along the track - 4-5hr return trip
