The last week saw us leaving the Isle of Skye and heading towards the north western highlands of Scotland. Some of the most rugged terrain is found here in the Torridon area, and the looming shadow of Liathach dominates the little hostel we stayed in at the base of the mountain. After that it was onto the wettest areas of Scotland, near the little town of Ullapool. Finally we have wound up our landscape images with a two-day stay in the Great Glen, Glen Affric.

One of the most spectacular sunsets we've seen since that first night in Scotland. It had rained all day and finally at 3.30pm it decided to let up. We were bumming the day away, and had randomly stopped at some unnamed waterfalls. When I saw blue sky on the horizon, we ran back to the car, drove to this carpark and began the hike up to the lookout point at 4.45pm. We walked up as fast as we could manage the 550m ascent and boy was I puffing when I got up there. BUT as it turned out, the view was better coming UP, so after a few shots, we hurried back down thinking that we would catch sunset at the loch side. The sun however, had different ideas and began to set very quickly behind the hill we had just climbed. So, it was a stop halfway down to catch Slioch slipping into shadow across Loch Maree.

Dylan satisfies his penchant for climbing munros with this hike up to Sgurr Mhor, 986m. This is the view of the Horns of Alligin. I hung around below...

One of the upsides of rainy weather - you get rainbows! Dylan caught one of the most intense rainbows we'd seen all trip over the ruins of Castle Ardvreck.

A sunrise that didn't fizzle out for once! Beinn Alligin to the left and the Liathach range light up in the dawn light.

Well, that might be all for a little while! Not sure about wifi access in Nepal, and certainly we won't be taking any electronics with us when we hike the Annapurnas, so I apologise in advance for being M.I.A., but will get to the Himalayan images when we're back in Australia at the end of this month! Hope you all have enjoyed our updates, and happy shooting wherever you are. :)

SIMPLY STUNNING!!!

My favs are the Rainbow shot, (I remember some very pretty rainbows when I was there many moons ago.) and the "Liathach range light up in the dawn light" shots.
But they are all fantatic. Sounds like you'll be fit as fiddles when you are finished, if you're not already!!!

Have fun in Nepal!!!
