Hi

Took these on this morning's walk. I thought they may look better as a tryptch.

I'm thinking that if I was going to highlight just one, it would be the first, but I quite like the shapes in #3

Thanks for any comments

Cheers

I actualy also like all 3 as a set Alan. They would look great if you set up a tripod to get the exact same view with the different waves, then frame them individually and put on the wall as a set. I have something similar in our family room, only it is old fences and posts in the sand at the waters edge in mono and it looks great!

Nice tryptich Alan. I really like the light reflecting off the water in all three.

Nice lot Alan, your usual simple yet effective style. I think, as Lloyd is saying, if you take the three photos from the same spot, just with different waves - that could be really stunning.

Thanks everyone,

Good idea Lloyd and Soren. Might be a bit difficult, as I had to keep getting out of the way of incoming waves and then go back and adjust each composition according to the shape of the resulting curves. (I actually don't mind the slight variation in the shape/size of the headland and mini sand cliff.) If it's still there tomorrow, and the tide is right, I'll give it another go. (Note to self - wear shorts :) )

Cheers

Lol, yep shorts and rock shoes. Doesn't matter if you get wet then;):D

I like them as a set as well.

Just a thought. If you shoot them again then perhaps you could place the dark sandbar progressively closer to the foreground.

It's just that when I look at these pics I expect to see the shadow closer in the third shot, and it isn't. I wouldn't go so far as to say it bothers me, just thought I'd throw an idea into the mix.

I like the shimmer on these btw, interesting pics.

Oh, and that way you wont have to carry a tripod :)

Thanks - I do see what you mean :) Good thought - that would look good I reckon.

Bet it's not going to be there tomorrow though.

Thanks for all the suggestions/comments - you guys are always so supportive of my efforts.

Cheers

Nice set Alan. If I had to pick one, I would choose #2 for the curve and the lines showing the motion of the receding wave.
