Alan i was looking for your post where you posted some of these previously to see what the scanner was you used,it think it was you that mentioned it in your post, i wrote it down but lost it, i am looking for one but dont want to get a dud, the pics look good.

It's an Opticfilm Plustek 7600i

Not as good as a Nikon Coolscan, ( http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product-Archive/Film-Scanners/9237/Super-COOLSCAN-9000-ED.html) but cheaper

I still don't know how to use it properly, I'm only scanning at 300 dpi for record keeping, but it does me at the moment - still very time consuming for old faded slides
