Don't know what software you're using Marios but this was a three second fix in photoshop CS3.
Opened curves layer and clicked on 'auto'

I like #2 also. Like Mick says use Levels adjustment. You can also select the white eye dropper and click on a pert of the bird that should be white, and it should correct it for you.I Shoot A Canon
