  • Black Swan in flight

This is from a week or so ago. There wasn't much around and this swan was the best shot of the morning. It flew across the lake and back way out in the centre, and was really too far away for a good shot. Very heavy crop

Pretty good for a heavy crop - as are the Blacks and Whites.

That vertical wing is wonderful and would make a great image in itself if you had the pixels.

Not sure you need all that water underneath?

Bit quite here hey - thanks for posting

Thanks Alan. It has been very quiet. I haven't been doing much with the camera lately. There seems to be to many other things that need to be done.

plenty of details for a crop. d800 has pixels to burn

Thanks Stephen. Yes, lots of pixels does have some benefits - the main trade-off is in continuous shooting speed.

I think frame rate is king in flight photography too.

Good detail for a large crop.
