nice pix. forest kingfisher I assume? guess the repaired lens does the biz.
if you could darken the top rhs it would lift the image a bit. you got great contrasting colours around the bird but the bright stuff at the top catches the eye a bit

      Cheers Stephen. Yes, Forest Kingfisher.
Good call on the brighter section. I did use the highlight slider to reduce it some already, ands as it looked much better than originally, I went with it. But good to get feedback from a fresh set of eyes to know that it needs more.

The Tamron seems to be performing better than it was originally, my keeper rate has improved. And I think the quality of the images is a bit better, the adjustments they did seem to have made a difference.
      Cheers, Brad.

Pretty bird, I don't see them often in Tassie but they are here. Need to go bush again I think! (Had to go to Lord Howe for the last KF shots).

I think you did pretty well with it.

Very nice Brad. Good colours with the bird well-placed in the frame. I think the rear view with the head turned works well in these. I agree with Stephen about the bright background in the first image.

Lovely capture. Light probably hasn't been kind to you.

Always hard to get the blacks and whites correctly exposed. I don't know how you'd get detail in the blacks without blowing the whites

Thanks for the comments Greg, Alan , and Alan. It would be nice if our sensors could handle another couple of stops of dynamic range, maybe one day

How sweet. love the colours captured with that beautiful soft pastelly background.
                    Great bird details too.
