Not ugly to another Ibis!.. I like the wagtail best.

Plus one for the wagtail. Love the shallow depth of field at that focal length.
Better a full bottle in front of me

Cheers guys. The willie landed on the post only 2 metres from me so it was a good test for the lens - it handled it well. Crazy package on AMAZON at present $960 with a heap of goodies in a bundled package. They don't ship it to Australia but it's freight free to anywhere in the USA. There's a couple from Victoria who set up a freight forwarding company in Portland Oregon MATESFREIGHT and their costs are better than most.

          1. I have used "shipitto" in the US. This worked fine as long as it was straight forward. I refuse to buy anything from amazon because of their restrictions on some items that are perfectly legal to send.Don't look on their site even. I have bought from e-global Like the camera and the Sigma lens. Sent the sigma lens back with an issue and it was returned promptly and fixed. I just hade a look, the Tamron lens is $859 there. They quite often have a discount coupon on the go which would cover freight. Just saying.

I like MatesFreight because no fees, just the shipping and no tax because of Oregons tax system. I have used e-Global before. I prefer DWI for grey gear. Their Tammy 18-400 is $849 (always free freight). I paid the same $849 locally so I'm pretty happy. There's not much saving now with grey gear, in fact Aussie prices are on a par. The Amazon deal is actually supplied by Beach Cameras in Edison New Jersey who have some real bargains.

3 more from yesterday: All at 400mm

#1 - White Faced Heron. It was about 30-40 metres away so quite pleased with the result.
