  • The Lonely Phone Box

Outback Queensland - the village of Corfield north of Winton - one pub that opens on Friday nights, a truckie parking area used by B-triple trucks [50metres long x 125-or so tonnes] and a phone box ... and about 15 minutes after actual sundown

    As always, feedback welcome

Great example of minimalist photography. The EV-1 was a good move to keep the colours intact. I like the photo so I had a play and lightening up the foreground gave it a lift to show up the phone box. Only my opinion, others may have a different view of it. Cheers.

Great photo Phil. Agree with Greg about lightening up the foreground area around the phone box to illuminate the ground and feature the grass/sand etc.

It could probably also work as a square, 'Instagram' type crop, but I like it as presented.

      Cheers

Nice one Phil, I think you nailed the exposure for the shot. Its a pity that glow coming from inside the phonebox wasn't a bit stronger, could have provided an interesting effect.
        Cheers, Brad.

          G'day fellas
Been out of internet range for 4-5 days ...

Hmmmm - I'll try Isac's suggestion, but I was happy with it 'au naturale'

Like it. Didn't look as if it had been vandalised either.

Btw, I was just wondering do someone posts his/her pictures on Instagram? If yes, is it useful? Does it bring more customers/viewers?

                G'day Irene
The rest area is a popular stopping place for many travellers, so it's quite possible that someone else has zipped a fone-cam image up to Instagram
For me - I keep my images for meaningful viewing by fellow photographers - not Fb / Insta followers who just click 'like' and move on
