    I didn't realise Tassie had Iron ore to mine. Is it still in operation Greg ? Environmentally it doesn't look too bad compared to some of the places I have worked at. I am sitting eating lunch at a Coalmine as I type this, most operations in this industry leave a lot to be desired I'm afraid.

      Yes still in operation Brad. Was set up in the 1960s by USA and Japanese interests and since sold on to Grange Resources. The iron ore is processed to a powder on site then pumped in slurry form though a pipeline to Port Latta on the NW coast where the slurry is further processed and mixed with bentonite clay and pelletised before shipping off overseas.
