      Yes mate, there's a few sanctuaries around now that the species is suffering from the Facial Tumor Disease. I've never seen them out and about in the wild in the daytime, but have at night.

      Had one visit a shack I was staying in up the lakes some years back, it managed to break in and open an esky. Took all the meat and sausages then couldn't find its way back out. Managed to catch it in a landing net but boy it made a mess.. and STINK!!!

                Yes it's been a hell of an exercise for Parks and Wildlife here with the FT disease decimating the devil populations.

                Many which were considered clear of it and released back into the wild have been killed by road traffic as they were so used to being fed from dead animals taken from the road sides. Isolated populations of devils have now been raised in sanctuaries all around the world in an effort to save the species from extinction. It looks like they are on the up and up and there are now wild populations free of disease which is a good sign.
