        Nice shot Kathie. Looks very sharp and the colour of the insect contrasts nicely with that of the water. Might have been even better if you had been able to frame it to avoid the green leaves behind the subject.

          Thanks Alan. Unfortunately I was limited where I could stand for the shot and movement may have also made it fly away :-)

                I love it when they sit still long enough for a shot. They are pretty lively around here at the moment!

                  Very nice shot.

                  Thing about dragonflies is they usually have a favoured roost and will keep coming back to it even after being disturbed. They will get used to you so you can move around them but it does take time and care not to spook them too much.
