  • Another star trails :)

    G'day all

We're at Lara Wetlands just south of Barcaldine in outback Qld ... a pleasant enough place but with dozens of dead trees in the very wide but shallow lake
Last night I had a chance for a star trail [again] and here 'tiz

    exif- Panny G2; 14-42 lens at 14 with wide-angle converter attached making it 10mm equiv [20mm film camera equiv]; 250 images of 30 sec @ F4; ISO-400

    Hope you like it
    Phil

Very cool effect Phil. That's a lot of images to stack. You'll have to do a tutorial, but with only 3 or 4 members left it may not be worth your while. Thanks for posting.

250 images? That's crazy. Well done.

        Thanks fellas

Stacking is done via a freebie from 'startrails.de' and funnily enough is called 'startrails' ~ developed by a dutch/german astro-phototog and offered to the world for their pleasure
The 250 images took about 6 minutes to stack in HQ mode - or 2 min in LQ mode
If you're interested - download your copy from the above site

good result, but to me the lights at the bottom detract from this image rather than add to it. probably well worth making them black too. way less distractions imho

Yeah mate - they're a bit of a bugga to me too - esp as I was shooting over water and got their reflections too
          Thanks, Phil
