  • Short foto essay ... back home again after the holidays

    G'day all

    Back home again after 6 weeks away, so I decided to have a pre-brekky walk around the area to catch up on it all. Here's what I found

    1- this bright flower caught my eye as I was walking past the bush

    exif = Panny G2; 14-140 @ 140; 1/320s x F5,6, EV= -0.7; iso-100

    2- at rest - tied up, "I ain't goin no-where"

    exif = Panny G2; 14-140 @ 45; 1/250s x F7,1, EV= -0.7; iso-100

    3- at rest #2 ... preening, dozing, but always with an eye half-open!

    exif = Panny G2; 14-140 @ 80; 1/500s x F8; iso-100

    4- almost 'home' - just about to tie up after a night's fishing

    exif = Panny G2; 14-140 @ 40; 1/400s x F9, EV = -0.7; iso-100

    As always, feedback welcome
    Phil

    Like #1 Phil.
    Unsure about #2 and #3. Seems to be a lot of dead space in the foreground of each.
    #4 maybe a vertical crop of the right side and turn it into a portrait would improve it.

        Thx mate - all good points
        #2 & #3 I was playing with reflections and -yes- if I cropped the bottom half of each image I would have the main subject very prominant
        Funnily enough - I carefully left the RHS of #4 to shoe the red lettering "Fresh Seafood" but as you point out, there's heaps of visual junk in the road

        Greg - no I don't know the name of the flower & don't have any books that might tell me. Thus I need to ask Dr Google
