  • Fitzroy River (and an Engel fridge)

Couple of snaps from a short camping trip to the Fitzroy River just south of Derby.

    My dusty and dry campsite.

River is very low at present and the hot and steamy weather seems to accentuate that. I was hoping for storms but they didn't eventuate and I gave up after two days.

Can't beat an engel fridge for camping, keeps the beers nice and cool.

And the fridge has to work hard to get the job done. Stinkin' hot at this time of year, that's the sun temp but it was still 45c in the shade.

Oh my, remind me never to go to Broome in the late spring or summer - I'd be trying to fit in the fridge. Looks like an amazing place Mick, sorry about the storms.

Best time of year Gabby, hot, steamy with wild storms and that river can flood to many miles wide. Everything becomes extreme and challenging. I love it.
