  • Avon Descent 2016

Avon Descent time again for 2016. I had a good spot this year on a private property, over the river from the regular crowd and the "Pepperazzi". I took nearly 1700 shots, mainly because of rapid fire. All taken with the Tamron 16-300. There's heaps more on my web site if you want to take a look.

Very committed folk who love a bit of a challenge. One guy in a kayak was in hid 50's and this was a first for him. He finished the race which is over 2 days and 124km. He finished 150th and was exhausted but he said he loved it and do it all again. Marvelous!

Nice work there Isac. Must be a hard life being an outboard motor in the first set.
        Cheers, Brad.

Thanks Ironwood. They do get banged about and when they hit the rocks the sound is like a bomb going off.

        Very cool photo set Isac

Terrific detail and pop of colours ....... action shots (and 'blooper' moments too) ..... not to mention the viewing position you were able to obtain.

Thanks Barb. I was standing on a rock right on the edge of the water so I could see the boats and kayaks approach the rapids as well. We will probably be on the rocks again next year!

Nice work Isac but crikey, they can shove that where the sun doesn't shine!! They are just plumb crazy buggers!!

Thanks for looking Lloyd. It does look a bit terrifying and when you're only metres from them crashing over the rocks it feels just as bad. I'd rather be taking the photos that's for sure.

A helicopter would be my vehicle of choice for cruising the Avon river in winter.

        Looks like fun though!

        Excellent series good sir

Thanks Mick. It was a great day out and I have sold a few from my website, which is very rewarding.
