I've been getting a few comments about how some of my recent b&ws lack a bit of contrast, so I've tried to push these more than I would normally.
Thanks for any comments and advice (colour versions over in Landscapes)

i saw the colours ones and immediatly thought about black and white.. i like thes much better.. but thats just my humble opinion!

Hmmmm. on the fence with the B&W version.
I'd lose the clouds in these, the main attraction is the snake lines. The clouds don't add any value in the B&W.

how different than the color versions. I really like these Alan and I can understand your getting
hooked on the BW side of things. I really love these, with regards to contrast I think you pushed
it a wee bit too much in the first image as the tree on the right is just too black with no detail
at all...in the second and third the contrast would appear to be scaled back abit. More pleasing??
To my eye yes to others maybe not...such a personal taste thing
I agree with Scott about the clouds at the top. I find they really push down on the image, In the first
my eye just zooms down the road happily over the hill into the distance. The others I sorta stop then
go again.
But really mate this is all hair splitting isn't it?? They are super shots as presented

Hi Alan,
I agree with Tim, i think you have pushed a little to far. Instead of pushing contrast, have you played with the colour balance within the B&W image. LR has a beautiful way to do this. Or you could try coloured filter layers.
I like the clouds in the colour version, but here thay are to dominant because of the B&W conversion.
