It was a hot day at the track...

In more ways than one. I took my youngest daughter to Motorvation at the Kwinana Motorplex today. It was hot, but not as hot as it got for these guys.

Great captures, may i ask what they do to get the cars to be on fire(i'm assuming they don't just light them up for fun....or do they?)...i've never been to one of these so i don't know...sorry if this is a stupid question.

Not stupid at all. It's not deliberate. The tyres get so hot on a sticky track that they can ignite. In addition, because these cars are usually heavily modified their engines tend to be temperamental and, along with the stress of the situation, they can drop fluids that catch on fire. It was 36C that day as well, which didn't help matters.

Thanks for explaining...i like the way the guy in the car seems so casually sitting there(with his arm on the rest thing) in a car on fire, plus the guy just standing there.....and then theres the fire man looking not so casual.
