  • Tern poised for dive.

Overexposed a few frames while trying to capture this tern diving so this effort is a rescue mission really.

Kinda like the way it turned out. Thoughts?

Ignore the frame, just slapped one on as an afterthought and it doesn't appeal to me at all now.

Interesting effect and I kind of like it too. A little more of the bird's head would have been nice but it's still identifiable (is that a word) as a Tern.

You could almost superimpose a little human body in there and make it an angel!

I am quite a fan of high key photography.
Leaves the simple yet beautifully dynamic outlines of this amazing bird.

Haven't been there, not done that.

I find it (with that black sharp beak = evil, verses the angel, white holy glow wings = good) has a lovely mysterious feel and it is making me look a few times,

I like it more with each view.

        A rescue can be interesting,

If you hadn't said so I would have thought it was intentional totally and successful at that!

        cheers Eden

I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can't see from the center.

          Thanks for the comments folks.

One of the great joys of BIF photography is that because of the speed at which events unfold, one is never quite sure of the end result.

Very nice Mick. The wings are beautiful and just enough of the head showing to show his intent. I've failed trying to get the actual entry into the water - boy they're fast when they drop.

Cheers Gabby. Yeah, they are fast alright! And the closer you get the harder it gets
