  • Birds at Lake Alford, Gympie - Part 1

I had a quick trip to Yeppoon this week (to see my 96 year old mother). I stopped at Lake Alford in Gympie on the way home, where I saw some Cattle Egret in breeding colours and nesting. Many White Ibis nesting there too, but i mostly ignored them. Here are some pics.

    1. Cattle Egret on nest. I couldn't get a clear shot of a nest. This shot is a bit cramped as it was shot between two tree trunks - you can see the one on the left.

A lovely set of images Alan. They sure do look impressive in their breeding colours.

Thanks John. It's a nice change from plain white.

What John said. Very unusual colour and your framing is excellent.

I dusted once and it came back. I'm not falling for that again!
