  • Ripples in the Sand

Got some scans back from the lab that I shot back in early December. This is probably my favorite of the bunch.

Canon Elan IIe, EF 50mm f/1.8 II, Kodak Tri-X 400.

What is the scale of the image? I'm just curious about what may have caused that upward diagonal line across the peaks of the sand waves. It assume it must have been very small.

I was hunch over, camera was maybe 60-80cm from the ground. Could've been a small bird like a sparrow or plover that left those small little marks in the sand.

Interesting, I was looking at glass plate negatives a while ago and when you see the incredible quality it makes you wonder.

Film negatives, especially B&W ones, can have some impressive resolution. Plus, that little 50mm lens is impressively sharp stopped down. Not bad for a lens that I paid $90 for ten years ago.
