G'day mate
Hmmmm - I spoze that so long as the leaf points don't tickle the cherub, all will be okay without the need to scratch the itch !

The red and green compliment each other well. Nice shot.Canon 7D Mark II, EF-S 10-22mm, EF-S 18-135mm STM, EF 100-400mm II L, EF 100mm L Macro, EF-S 24mm STM, EF 50mm II, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.

Good use of colour and nicely framed. Have you considered cropping out the darker green object on the left.

Had a fiddle hope you don't mind.
Better a full bottle in front of me

This is fun! Well done John, the crop is spot on and you've done well with the additional editing. Greener natural leaves would be better IMHO, as Mark mentioned. The original seemed to have a cyan colour cast (average colour #819e93) which didn't help. So here's an edit just using HSL scrubby slider to remove the colour cast.
Another artistic play with selective colour really works well with red coloured subjects.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
