  • Light trails

I went on a long exposure workshop last night and the main focus of the workshop was to capture light trails from car headlights/taillights whilst traveling along Alexandra Ave. Unfortunately due to a traffic incident the cars from one direction were just about non existent and from the other direction they were pretty much stopped, or at a crawl.

#2 By the time the traffic was moving again there weren't many cars around and the trails were less than hoped for. At the end of the night I learnt a couple of useful tips for this type of photography.

Something different for you John. Great effect. Not my bag but many have fun with it and get some classy shots. #3 for me, good balance of light throughout.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

      That 16mm would be awesome!

    G'day John

I note also that you've moved the tripod for #3 ... slightly different background coming into the pic
I like the effect of #1 ... stop 'n go (all in 1-second! well done) tho #2 with a mit more blue-sky appeals as well as #3 for the skyline

Thanks Phil, the first shot is actually 30 seconds, the other two are both at 25 seconds.

I like the effect in #1 showing both cars and lights, and #3 has the best light trails.

Thanks Alan, it seems that you're not the only one that likes #1. I was going to bin it, but I thought I'd post it to show what the traffic was like.
