  • Batteries are batteries

Until they swell to the point of leaking.

The one in the front is the same age but hasn't been subjected to the same overcharging as the ones behind.

and while I'm at it SWMBO is interstate for work so the kids cooked again.

    G'day K1W1

Geez mate - you're talking about cooking in 2 quite different 'genres' ... I can see the food cooking down below, but what the hell are you doing to the batteries to cook 'em like that????

    Regards, Phil

They came out of some UPS we replaced. I would say the charger was kaput.

        Thanks K1w1

Altho it's hard to get an exact size from your images - they seem similar to my motorhome's 2x house batteries - which cost $900 a pair to replace. Hope yours are cheaper than that!!

        Regards, Phil

These are 12V 7AH batteries that cost about $40 retail. They are common in most desktop style UPS that plug into a standard wall outlet, alarm systems and NBN back up power supplies for those three people in Australia connected to the NBN.

At $900 a pair they must be some special batteries.
