That bird in middle at bottom is a good one to use for ID. The white bits on the tail (apart from the wing color and short beak) suggest you are right. Not that I'm an ID expert. For coastal birds my two books are very handy.
It's amazing with large flocks of birds how they don't seem to fly into each other.

Thanks Mark. Yeah, I've never understood how they don't have massive pile ups. There were about a thousand birds in this flock.
