  • Rainbow in the Lilly Pilly

We get a lot of Rainbow Lorikeets hanging out in the park next door but they are usually too high up in the trees or too deep in the foliage to get a decent shot. I got very lucky today when a couple of them came into my back yard to feed on the Lilly Pilly fruit.

Good one John. Excellent colour and sharpness and clear of the foliage. I like your framing too.

Good job on this one John. As above. Bit of a downgrade going back to the 7Dii

I would have thought that the new one would be good for wildlife too. Can you put the 150-060 on it?

I have the EF/RF adapter, it came with the body so I can use the 150-600 on the R6. The crop factor of the 7DII gives the Siggy that extra reach that come in handy with wildlife photography. I will do some comparison shots at some stage.

All good mate. Maybe set up on a tripod and take R6 and 7Dii shots of the same subject at 150 and 600 to truly see what difference there is in what's actually in the frame.

    Made for colour photography.

I agree Hans. B&W just doesn't cut it with image.

As you know I've stopped editing members images, but I did have a look at a B&W version and I lost your bird!

I find the Rainbow Lorikeet to be one of the angriest looking parrot type of birds we have here. They never seen to be happy like the Corella or Galah.
But their colour makes up for that short fall in them I think, nice shot.

Good observation Ralph. Maybe that red "Devil" eye creates that appearance.
