    Good to have them back Isac, they are such elegant birds. I prefer the warmer tone given by the background in #2.

      Thanks Alan. The male and female are always together. #2 is only a few metres from #1 but the reeds do give it a nicer tone.

    I always thought that the duck with the green head and chestnut body was a chestnut teal. Is it the white band on the neck that makes it a shell duck?

      The teal male has a green head and is a totally different shape to these Australian Shelducks, which have the distinctive white collar. The female also has a white patch around the eye and is a lot smaller than the male. These Shelducks are seen in Victoria too so there may be some around your area.
