  • Masked Lapwing foraging

Haven't been out for a week due to other commitments and rain. There is now water in the lake but you can't see most of it because of the weeds that have grown up.

I came across a pair of lapwings foraging in and around a puddle so I crouched down to try for a few shots. One of them kept coming closer until it just about filled the frame.

Excellent series. Like the pose in the last one and the eye contact in the 2nd.
    Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.

Great find and well captured Alan. Great IQ and lighting and #2 is rather special with the "what are you looking at?" pose.

nice series. last 2 would be my pics. better light on 2nd last one, but leg lift is nice in last.
some shadow boost on the body would likely lift the last one also.
    good work

Thanks Stephen, I did boost the shadows on the last but I'll have another look at it.
