A few freehand shots from today in the yard. The regular wild birds are now sort of used to me and will allow me to get relatively close to them for photos without getting flighty. Though I want them to be a little flighty so that I can capture them in flight lol
A couple of juvenile Apostle birds preening each other, a Pied Currawong having a drink and a Torresian Crow eyeing me down between mouthfuls of one of the plants.
I didn't realise at the time that I managed to capture the action shot of the currawong, but sadly, it's not the cleanest image.
Looking over these images on the computer, I have improved my technique substantially, as they all required only minimal editing in Affinity and of the 130 photos I took in the session, it looks like I could easily clean up 70% of them to be somewhat respectable looking. I put it down to changing the setting on the fly as I moved around the yard.
Though one thing that I've noticed is that on the camera, I can get the histogram to be in the middle, but when I load it onto the computer, the histogram is always all the way to the left side.
