  • Birds at sundown

There is a creek system behind me here and these birds appeared just as I was setting up for sunset shot. Another of those right place right time moments.

    Love it

Maybe a pano crop without the bottom bit?

Agree on the crop but superb colours and nicely framed.

Good call on the pano crop gentlemen. I'm rusty. Something like this?

I'm a bit different to most humans Mick. IMHO the 1st image lets us see the vast amount of space that the birds are enjoying and lets us see the scale a lot better. But, in saying that, the cropped version concentrates more on the birds than the whole environment and thus becomes a completely different image.
Either would look great on the wall.

You raise good points Isac, thanks for that. If I was to print and frame this I would be tempted to go with the original.

It's a beautiful photo and I like both but the original gets my vote, simply because of the scale that I mentioned.

I very much like this and it is a shot I wouldn't be able to get as I am at home around this time of the day.
I post what I photograph and what I post is how I like it.

They are both great images. Kinda prefer the 2nd, certainly for a walled picture, the colours are to dream for....

Great shot, being an Eastcoaster, I have to drive for 24 hours straight to get to the Gulf for sunset photos over the ocean. I really should take another camping holiday back to Weipa....

Just to be a bit awkward I like the crop but with the rule of thirds applied with the 1/3 below the horizon. Regardless though it would all look good! Take a bow!

Beautiful shot and colors. I can't really pick between the crop and the original, I like them for different reasons.
                    Fujifilm X-T5, XF10-24MM, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm and 120 film cameras.
