Such a surprise...

... did not expect this.

#1 - I noticed a Pink Eared duck just standing on the edge of the lake, so naturally I grabbed a quick photo. I did not see the bubs until I was processing the images.
#2 - I moved a bit closer for a better shot and then saw this as they drifted off. I had no idea this lot had started a family here.

#3 - The family enjoying the beautiful sunny day.

Cheers gents. Australian duck and not mistakable with any other ducks. Often called "Zebra Ducks" - I wonder why?
