A couple of birds from the Flinders Ranges

Didn't see many birds here, and the ones I did see caught me while set up for landscapes. Plenty of emus around though and easy subjects because of their size.

4. Australian Ringneck. These have several regional common names but the scientists have decided they are a single species. They also weren't very cooperative so these are heavy crops.

Nothing wrong with a good emu shot Alan. #2 is a classic showing how tough these birds are and they can survive the worst and harshest areas. Love your Ringnecks. The quality in your images shows that lots of pixels nowadays still retains a lot of detail even when heavily cropped. The marvels of technology!

Thanks Alan. I cropped the emu down to a portrait as their heads seem to merge into the background in full body shots.
