  • Some Birds in Flight

BIF is not my strong point so I was pretty with these shots from Phillip Island. The focus controls on my R6 are great for wildlife photography plus my Photoshop skills are improving.

Wedge Tail Eagle, you can't believe how stoked I was to see this fella soaring overhead, even more stoked that I was able to get a decent capture.

Well done John, these look really good although, for my taste, you have gone a bit overboard with the space in front of the birds. It does get your attention though.

If you haven't done so already I would try to lift the shadows on the geese.

I'm finding that Lightroom is now easier to use than Photoshop for most adjustments to photos. Photoshop is more powerful but more complex, and often just does a better job with selection and masking so is still needed.

Thanks Alan, I did a global shadow lift on the geese, but I will go back and do some local lifting.

Thanks Mick, I think Alan's right about going overboard with the open space.

Good composition with BIF is a difficult task, keep at it.

Excellent shots, especially the one of the geese.

Yeah, the geese shot is pretty cool, but the eagle is special as I don't get to see many (let alone photograph one).

I know how you feel. I was over the moon when I shot my first Australian Hobby. A rare sighting for me. I just don't see any in suburbia.

Well done John. Imagine doing that with Kodachrome II 25asa
Better a full bottle in front of me
        than a full frontal lobotomy.
