  • Wandering Whistling Ducks and a couple from last week

A few more from this morning. The dead stalks in the lake are beginning to clear but there is still enough to prevent clear shots.

    5. Comb-crested Jacana. They are surprisingly small birds; much smaller than you would expect from the photo.Click image for larger version

Wonderful shots. I especially like the one of the two Kingfishers.
    Fujifilm X-T5, XF10-24MM, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm and 120 film cameras.

The two kingfishers is a fabulous shot. All are excellent Alan. Do you know the name of the tune the whistling ducks are performing?

Thanks Isac, "Five little ducks" I think, but they were a rather disorganised. I only got the three, two and one verses

I like that both kingfishers look sharp, good effort. The Comb-crested Jacana is a weird looking thing. Only seen one in my travels, at Parry's Lagoon just out of Wyndham.

Thanks. Both kingfishers are sharp because it's a composite. They weren't quite in the same plane of focus.

The Jacanas are fairly common around her in small numbers. Usually one or two in each suitable lake.
