He makes that barb wire look formidable.
Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

Very nice Hans. Nice contrast between the bird and the background. Could do with some shadow brightening to show the eye perhaps, but not always possible.

I actually did some of that. Couldn't see it at all. I obviously have to do it a bit more!

Nice shot. I really like the color contrast between the background and the bird.
    Fujifilm X-T5, XF10-24MM, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm and 120 film cameras.

Lovely photo of a very colourful little bird Hans! I do like that you used the plant as a sort of frame to add interest to the shot.
As wigz said, just a bit of PS trickery using the Dodge tool to brighten the eye and lift the shadows would make it better. Also enlarge the bird in the space. Like so:

That made a big difference The image of the bird is starting to struggle a bit with more than a 300% increase in size. This is a jpg of the original. The blurred bit at the bottom is the bonnet of the car
