Looks like a Great Egret Isac. I see them in trees all the time at one location near here.

I really like the first image although the sky might be a tad overdone for my taste, and there is a halo on trees the right.

Interesting series at different focal lengths. Are the whites a touch blown in #5

I experimented with the sky in #1 - guess a bit over done, resulting in the halo. #5 is a bit blown, I agree.

I was at a Place in Vietnam where they roosted at night they must have come from miles away . A flock of them.
Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

Lucky you Hans. Any photos? The only time I see them is when they are feeding at the edge of the lake, so to see it fly up into the trees was a first for me.

I will see if I can find some when I get home. I know I was a bit disappointed with what i got at the time..

Nice shots Isac. I see egrets and herons in trees pretty frequently around here.

Thanks David. It might be more common than I thought, but it's a first for me. I usually see them at the lake edge or in the shallows getting a feed.

Have found it! On this day 03 October 2023 in Vietnam these were some of the birds I ran across. Towards the end of the day we were dropped off at a park by our driver who told us thousands of birds roost here every night. We walked around the park for well over an hour and remember saying to Sylvia "Not a dickey bird" We then came across a lady who told us that we had to head to another part of the park and catch a boat. The last boatfull of tourists had gone but another lady offered to take us. Thank heavens for old ladies.
    As the day progressed.

All great bird shots Hans. And I can definitely see a few parked up in the trees. I do have a shot of birds in trees but they are of Ibis.
Working...
