  • Rufous Fantail and Swans

I managed to get down to Eagleby Wetlands this morning and picked up a few shots. At last there is some clear water.

    1. Rufous Fantail. In the shadows with sunlit background, but brightened up ok,

That fantail is gorgeous! And to see our black swans in Queensland is pretty cool as most do prefer the southern part of Oz.

I hope you get some cygnet shots when they come Alan.
The tail on the fantail when it's all fanned out is quite amazing. I have a similar shot of a Grey Fantail https://www.ausph.com/forum/photohol...0-grey-fantail

Well caught Isac. It takes some patience and luck to get a shot like that

Beautiful shots. The detail on the fantail is fantastic. What is the brown stuff on the surface of the water in #2?

Thanks AlfandBen. I think the brown stuff is Azolla, an aquatic fern. Until recently it covered the whole surface not covered by water hyacinth (the green plant in the background). Azolla can be beneficial, water hyacinth is a major pest.
