  • Some from this morning

I went back to Tygum Park for the first time in a while and started quite early. It was a bit quiet but picked up a few.

    1. Pelican having a big yawn. Before sunrise so 1/200, f/5.6 12,800 ISO. ACR denoise did a good job but still a bit of noise visible at full size.

    2. Juvenile Blue-faced Honeyeater. Their face starts out green and turns blue as they mature.

Love 'em all Alan. Beautiful detail on all, especially the red-browed finch.

Thanks Isac. The finch was really too far away so I'm a bit surprised to get the detail.

You have some amazing gear Alan (and great skills) which combined, seems to get great results.

Agree with Isac, the little red brown finch is a great photo.

and pl do not worry about 'noise' ... it's like grain from film days - it's part of the image

Thanks Phil. I don't worry too much about noise unless it's really bad.

"ACR denoise did a good job but still a bit of noise visible at full size." An old farmer friend used to say "A blind man would be glad to see it" about things that he considered not to be an issue, and I think that would apply to the noise levels in these images.
The colours, clarity and detail in all of them are excellent but my favourites would be the Pelican and the Finch.

Thanks AlfandBen. I'm not complaining about the noise - just an observation. The noise in the original was quite ugly, which wasn't surprising at 12,800 ISO, so ACR did an amazing job.
Working...
