      Yeah, I like that John. I think you can (on most occasions) do something creative with shots you think are not up to scratch. Good job.

        Thank you both so much for your kind words. Shooting in to the sun, combined with the glare off the water I was never going to be able to recover detail from the shadows, so I thought B/W would work. Photoshop CS6 and Nic Silver Efex Pro 2 to the rescue.

          Looking at it again, you're right, it's not too bad considering the light. We can be our hardest critics at times.

        I redid the image in the original post as it was quite obvious where I had cloned out some reeds. A slightly different crop eliminating the reeds altogether.

            Thanks Toddy. It was only when I was having a real close look that I noticed the ugly cloning in the bottom L/H corner.
