Out the back of the old timber homestead, this outbuilding was sitting quietly.
BTW- Not sure what it might have been used for

Nice clear shot Phil, but doesn’t show much character because of the rather high sun.

It could be a separate kitchen, although it appears to be attached to the house. I believe kitchens were sometimes separate in farmhouses to reduce fire risk. The concrete slab under the fireplace looks to be quite new.

You could well be on-the-mark here ... there was an LPG gas bottle in the right corner next to the chimney ... I have zapped it out of sight! ... so that could have been the more-modern means of providing flames for the kitchen occupants than the original 100+/- yrs ago

Great capture of our simple but effective early architecture Phil. Strong colours too. I can see the edit on the bricks is a duplicate of the chimney section so, when you do that, also clone smaller sections from other parts so it becomes undetectable by changing the patterns. Just sayin'
