Abandoned Buildings Around the County

Originally planned on hiking in a new wooded area that was just bought for preservation by the county but the area is still being worked on and the logging roads through that area were overgrown. A few minutes on those trails and three ticks on my boot later decided to call it and come up with an alternate plan. So I decided to look for some old dilapidated or abandoned buildings. The first building was either a barn or grist mill that is being overtaken by vines. The second set is of the abandoned grain silo in the small town of Lincoln.

It must be my younger adventurous spirit, but I've always had an interest in abandoned buildings, everything has some story to tell, some of the older buildings might not have anybody left to tell those stories, which adds to the mystique.

ps- we might have acquired a bunch of 'abandoned buildings' here too, after is was discovered recently that the US Military in Darwin (northern Aust) had built a heap of fuel bunkers without seeking planning or building permission from the local authorities ... who are not happy

I agree with all above David. The old buildings are a fascinating subject and hold many hidden secrets of the past.
