Good composition and subject, the light is a little harsh but not overly so.

Looks like a great place to dip the toes.

Murphy's law when travelling Mick. Always at the best scenes at the worst time of day for photography. Gordon reckons, next trip, we should stay at each place a minimum of 1 week to try and get good light.

Looks so tranquil there P Plates. Good colours too. Is that where they make the worlds best photo papers ?

Thanks Isac - would be an interesting question for the locals - wonder how many from there have even heard of Ilford photography paper.

Who knows? Maybe they've all heard of it! I use it all the time and I reckon it's one of the best papers around, especially the Smooth Pearl 300gsm.

We've had a run of warm days and your photo makes me want a swim.
So would that be between Ilford and Bathurst and therefore the Turon River, at Sofala?

That sounds about right Mark and thanks for a more detailed description of where we were. So many photos and we just forget exactly where they were taken sometimes.

Nice detailed photo on what appears to be a naturally gorgeous place.
Lots of clarity from the front all the way to those lovely clouds..

I find rivers like this quite tricky to compose as it's hard to find a focal point despite being surrounded by beauty.

Haven't been there, not done that.

Thanks Jo. I agree - would have liked that little log and plant on the right as foreground but impossible to get there. Sometimes a boat would be handy.

Just what I was imagining too for your pic, I hate to say it but this is where a poodle might come in handy.

I know that area fairly well and looks to me like a section of the Turon River on the Bridle Trail out of Hill End. Ring a bell?
Could possibly be one of a couple of sections along Upper Turon River Road but that seems less likely.

Yep that sounds right Toddyh. We went to see Hill End and saw this and pulled in for a look.
