Nice colour and and I like the contrast between the dead tree and the grass, but the out of focus trunk at right detracts for me. The horizon appears to be tilted too.

Thanks Alan. It's deceptive but that tree is actually several metres long. I was trying the choose an aperture that would make the tree pop against the background and may have gone a bit too far.
The horizon part is actualy the row of trees in the background being on an angle - the ones on the right side are closer than on the left.

      How's this?

That's an improvement for me. you could also try cropping from the the right and a bit less from the bottom; While it wouldn't remove all of the blur, it would reduce the impact. The tilted look is reinforced by the tree in the right background, which could be leaning.

Have to agree that it doesn’t really work well. I understand what you were trying to show but IMO perhaps another angle would have given both the contrast you were after and also a better illustration of the size of the tree. I reserve my comment on the possible tilt as there is no horizon as such.
