  • Metro Sydney has a waterfall

This is not Tassie but rather the middle of metro Sydney.

Lovely waterfall to get the slow shutter shots Todd. I like what you've done to get the milky water but I'm on the fence with it personally. I like to see the water as is or just a tad milky, maybe 1/2 - 1 second. Nice pics.

Thanks Greg. Yep know what you mean. This is actually a little creek in Carlingford only flows like this after decent rain. Problem is after decent rain the water is brown. I don't really like the brown water at natural speed.

Cheers Todd. Maybe milky is best if the water was brown

Should be running well today. There is a personality about waterfalls this would seem serene with gentle action. I was thinking about doing a small book on waterfalls. Planning to see some in Iceland.

It's deceptive this little fall. It's actually around 4m high.
Iceland looks amazing. Definitely on the bucket list.

been there many times. it rises quick and falls just as quick due to the small catchment. good job on the water, not fond of the foreground stuff. sometimes you just have to get wet feet to get the best results here.

I have been there sometimes and the water running feet above the falls, carrying 30cm trees over etc.
think the flow you have captured is about the best time. for a change I took some that were not milky water and I thought the result was rubbish so you definitely did the right thing here.sometimes some more flow works well also here.
not in my local backyard now though for me having moved to bendoura, so no more pix for me

Thanks Stephen. I did get the feet wet. Everything else too for that matter as it was still raining when I was there.

Maybe this foreground is more to your taste.

looks a lot nicer. the rocks etc look better than the dud plant imho. good work
worth getting the feet wet for I think. the site also lends itself to panos too. not to mention hdr
is a rare jewel in suburbia. there are a few sets of falls in sydney but I reckon these are the best.
